Research interests include taking a historico-legal perspective on rape and sexual offences in the Victorian period 1850-1900. Using newspaper reports to analyse how cases were reported, dealt with and public perceptions of both the crime itself and the participants. Currently looking at the issue of gang/group rape and also moving forward in time to consider rape in first part of 20th century
